Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a printed brochure?
There used to be, but since the web site contains the same
information (more, in fact, if you count the pictures and this FAQ), we
decided to stop updating it.
Why the age requirement?
Our guests should be 12 years old or older. Unlike more family oriented
dude ranches, we actually involve our guests in ranch activities during
the season and do not provide children’s activities and programs.
What’s
Up with the Physical Requirement?
We are a working guest ranch. Our rides are adventurous and cover a varied
terrain. During our all day rides you will be mounting and dismounting
your horse as needed or wanted so a reasonable level of fitness will help
you fully enjoy our ranch. Riding experience is not required. We will
show what you need to know about tacking your horse and preparing you
for a great ride. For the health of our working horses we require our
riders to be 240lbs. or less.
What payment methods do you accept?
Our U.S. customers can pay via check, money order, or any other
legal tender in U.S. funds. Usually the deposit is mailed to us
and the remainder is paid upon arrival. We are not set up to accept
credit cards, sorry. Our international customers can pay via bank
transfer (contact us for account details), or mail us a check drawn on
U.S. funds.
What do I need to bring?
Check the gear list in our Details
page. For the bunkhouse bring the usual bathroom stuff (soap, shampoo,
toothpaste, etc.)
What will the weather be like during my stay?
The weather at this altitude is unpredictable. Generally speaking,
expect it to get warm during the day (even hot, sometimes) in the summer
(June through August), while remaining cool at night. Warm daytime
temperatures are also common in spring and autumn. A typical winter
day is at or below freezing during the day and well below freezing at
night.
How do I get there? Which is the nearest
airport? Do you offer shuttle service?
Check our directions page
for details. |
