One-Day Ranch Experiences
Our One-Day Ranch Experiences are a great alternative to staying at the ranch for four or five nights. They’re both educational and fun, and ideal for folks who already live in the area or are visiting and looking to spend only one day at the ranch.
Working Ranch Day Experience
Have you ever dreamed of living the life of a rancher? Come join our team for a unique experience; become part of our ranch crew, experiencing a day-in-the-life of a rancher.
This day on the ranch starts with an orientation, which includes a history of the ranch, current practices and goals, and horse safety protocols. You will then spend time in the arena learning and practicing horsemanship with the horse you will be riding. After we’ve packed our lunches we’ll mount up and head out for our day’s work, which could be checking on and/or moving cattle or fixing fence, and taking in the amazing scenery along the way.
This experience is for riders age 12 and up, and is offered Tuesday through Saturday each week of our summer guest season. Maximum group size is five riders. The experience starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 2:00 PM, and the price is $295/person.
Walking Tours
We offer scenic, educational walking tours at the ranch. Come visit and learn about the variety of cultural and historical sites on the ranch. Each tour is approximately 2 hours.
Pricing:
$25/adult (12 & up)
$15/youth (6 to 11)
Children 5 & under free
Group Rate:
Groups of 12 or more people: $300 flat rate
Available Tuesday through Sunday starting May 30th and continuing until October 15th.
Some of the tour options include:
Buffalo Jump - an historic Ute summer hunting site, which includes the buffalo “jump” and tipi rings.
Flat Top mountain - immediately in front of the ranch, this ridge offers an amazing view of the ranch and the surrounding area.
Opal Pit - a volcanic site with a high concentration of opal stones
The ranch is at just under 9000 feet elevation, and these tours can be strenuous, so be prepared with sunscreen, appropriate footwear, and water bottle.
